Ask your boss as if you're curious. It elevates them because it gives them the opportunity to enlighten you. Most questions are slanted seeking the word yes, which might be a very respectful intention looking for mere confirmation. The people that are going to pick our pocket and cut our throat have gotten very good at creating this yes momentum. They don't really realize that you are the magician that's creating that great feeling.
