The Importance of in-Person Challenges
I hate the take home challenges. They are missing 90% of the work that you're putting into when you they ask you to present a finished product in a meeting. It says a lot about the company that's hiring you because it tells me that they don't really know what they're actually looking for. I wish they would have done more of that in ID to sort of not suss out your hard skills but how do you work with people? Are you diligent about being inclusive of stakeholders? What is important to a product manager? How are you going to rally and build relationships? You could tease some of that stuff out in whiteboard challenges.
