Sally Kohn: As a child, I felt so violated by my mom's body. She says she was sent home from her TV job for having chiseled cheekbones. After the pandemic of foodborne illnesses in 2008,Kohn changed how she ate and started working out twice a day. The weight loss made her feel more confident about herself but it also left her feeling self-loathing. But now that she has found acceptance with her new look, "I'm grateful to have a body," she says.
