The Psychology of Luther and the Reformation
Andrew Patrick: We owe Luther a lot in terms of how the Reformation played out. Roper's biography, which is fun and I think you would get a lot out of reading it, I recommend it, is highly psychological. So we can do that with Luther in a way that we can't with a lot of other 16th century figures because we have so much from him. Not his motivations for the theses, I think it just grounds him more. It makes him more real, it makes him more human and it puts him in a distinct world.
