Charles VII and the Treaty of Arras
In 1435, 16 years after the assassination of John the Fearless, Charles VII and Philip the Good agreed on a long-term peace deal. The Treaty of Arras confirmed Philip's possession of valuable territories in what's now Northern France. It also stipulated that Philip the Good would be exempt from doing homage to Charles VII. For his part, Philip was happy to make alliances with other powerful princes of France against Charles VII.
