Is There a Performance Component to Lectures?

When you're a doing these lectures, is there not a performance component? Do you not feel li, definitely. You know, a lecture is form of theatre. Now, it's a serious form of theatre, but theatre can be serious ou now. I'm trying to think about complicated things in real time with an audience there to participate. And the other thing i'm trying to do is to further my thinking on the topics that i'm addressing. The closest thing really that it compares to is probably stand up comedy.
