The two criteria for taking a publishing deal in my mind is you're aiming for New York Times bestseller list. You cannot hit a best seller list with a niche book. That there's a reason why all of the nonfiction bestseller books are personal development or personal finance. Everybody either wants to make their life better or make more money, period.
