The Importance of Filtering Criteria
A meme going around the internet right now says, remember, sucking at something is the first step to becoming sort of good at something. It's coming on attention recently that one of the largest differences, I believe, between a programming novice and a programming expert is that we can filter these criteria. If you try to apply all the rules of programming at once, you pretty much can't program. The Katrina was talking about how you learn to recognize these different qualities and animals or whatever to tell if they're safe. In programming, we have a similar thing with code smells,. Which is how we learn to recognize that code is safe, so to speak.
