Progressive Overload Is a Sign of Adaptation, Not the Driver
The way that i try to set the training fen up is, within an a week and b week rotation, athletes are pretty much hitting everything that is relevant to the sport. And we're always making minor tweaks. progressive overload is a sign of adaptation, but it's not the driver of adaptation. So if someone's able to progressively overload theyr, adding more weight to the bar, they're geting faster on the 400m, splits, w have you. You literally just got to have them do the same exact workout until they plateau. Nd then when someone stops progressing, i do what's called taking the next logical step. Sometimes it's simple as adding one extra set
