Innovation is a process of trying things and then somebody else trying them until eventually it succeeds. People with an experience have lots of scar tissue of things that got tried before and failed. If you fail to make an insight, nobody will know; the reward structure is always favored as the down arrow. Good ideas are fragile and precious and easily discarded.

My guest today is celebrated research psychologist Gary Klein who has spent nearly 50 years studying how and why people make the decisions they do.
