The Snow on the North Side of the Race
I have less than happy memories, both pacing and racing over that pass. I pace Katie through there in 2017 when she actually did the race. When we finally started to, you know, get close and start cresting it, she was just crying for like a good like five, 10 minutes as she was making the last push. And it's so close. It's like vertically not that far, but like if you've ever been to a sand dune and you take one step and you lose it? That's what it feels like up there at that point. The snow might move less at that early hour of the morning.
