The Importance of Setting Practice Tasks
I think there's value for both sides too. One of the big issues I see is that they overly constrain practice. So when you kind of guide what the defender should be doing or could be doing, well, options for them then it gives the attacker way more things to start attuning to. They end up having a more representative practice task because you're setting the defender to do stuff rather than the attacker to do stuff. And that can be an issue in itself, right? There's zigging when you're expecting a zag and whatever.
