Europe had an early lead because it was the first continent to properly industrialise. But now it's falling behind the USA and Asia, especially in tech. Europe is seen as more egalitarian with a stronger emphasis on comfortable working conditions. Europeans also work less hours, preferring a comfortable work-life balance when compared to their US counterparts.
