How to Talk to Your Customers
Not enough marketers take the time to explore themes, topics through those conversations and then synthesize those notes back in their content. I have a weird advantage perhaps because I befriended a lot of product managers at the software companies I worked for. But my friend always pushed me to do was say, ask about the pain, understand the problems. Don't ask for their solutions. Do not look for their ideas. If they want to give you ideas and you build rapport through that, great. You probably won't. Better is to figure out what's broken in your world or in this task that our company might have a product to help you solve.
