If we're not deeeply connected to the why behind what we're doing, then it probably isn't going to stick. If you're leaning on will power and discipline, you're setting yourself up for failure. We are going to be much better at creating long term behavior change if we can identify environmental engineering or deploying a friction in order to help create the behavior that we're to deploy.
