The Role of Salivary in Taste
The tongue is a muscular organ. Maybe we don't think of it as that, but it effectively is. Its purpose is to manipulate food for chewing and swallowing. It's also the primary organ of taste, as we've discussed before. Teeth are a hard calcified structure which are found in and kind of grow out of the jaws of many vertebrates, including humans.
