How Long Is a Piece of String?
In our social operating system, I do feel like trying to eliminate bias is like cutting heads off the hydra where it's just like, oh, great. Now anyone can apply and we don't have to see their name. So then when you start to evaluate based on real demonstrated skills and experience, you're introducing bias into the process. And so even at this first speed bump, we've had to be like, okay, well, is it the questions? Is it the scoring? But like, how are we making sure that we're not reinforcing systemic bias in this small process?
