"I really want to have and this is this goes to that reservation policy of clubhouse eating in Japan where, you know, some of the best restaurants won't let you in unless you're a good diner," he says. "That's really the code of ethics to get into these restaurants. You have to be vouch for to be a good diner." He adds: "If you show up late, there's you understand nobody calls you to confirm a reservation".
After Chris and Dave lead you through the dreaded chain reaction of what occurs in a restaurant kitchen when a table is five minutes late to their reservation, they do their very first Debate Club on whether dining should require a special license on the diner's part. Other topics include kids as the death of punctuality, burying “friends of Dave” on the waitlist at Momofuku Ko, and what it takes to be a respectful diner.
