Resetting the Nervous System
In our meditation tonight we're going to practice the entire process of resetting the nervous system from a state of ongoing threat detect anxious predisposition back to a more socially engaged homeostatic state. So just make sure that everything feels relaxed, not too tense. Take a nice full in breath and then a very long slow exhalation. And while your hands resting on your heart center. Just allow the feeling of the warmth to engage your vagal nerve, which is like the brakes of the autonomic nervous system.
