How to Overcome Panic Attacks

It's helpful to say this is what is going on internally. It is called a panic attack. Nothing bad is happening to me. To let the body do what the body does is wired to react to an alarm, even a false alarm. We are in a unique position as human animals but we have the benefit of the cortex and we have thebenefit of the ego. So there is some part of ourselves that can reflect on the instinctive impulses and have a cognitive process about it.
