The Benefits of Gassing Chickens
With chicken slaughter, they currently hang them upside down and then dunking them in an electrified bath. The hope is that it will knock them out relatively quickly. Gassing would be an improvement to the current process. USDA records every year how many of these birds are fully alive when they make it to the scolding tank.
