i feel like part of the reason that female dating strategy took off as well is that we don't focus as much on why men do things. It's not necessarily your job to go back in his childhood and figure out, like, all the steps it took for him to be likea busive person. Growing up in a bad situation is going to affect you in all kinds of other ways, but that's not what turns you into an abuser.
