The Different Types of Anti-Reflux Procedures
Laparoscopic fundoplication is still the gold standard procedure for anti-reflux surgery or interventions. There are alternatives to long-term pharmacotherapy that may actually improve the quality of life dramatically. The two components of reflux, heartburn and food regurgitation, are addressed differently. So we have to be sort of aggressive in discerning what's bothering the patient more than others.
