The Importance of Population Size in Economic Growth
In the 20th century, we were able to sustain a pretty rapid exponential growth in R&D. But that obviously has limits within population itself. At a certain point, if your population doesn't grow and you're trying to grow your research workforce, eventually everybody in the world is a PhD educated scientist. Unless of course you have some way of massively leveraging human R&D input, say perhaps through AI.
