I Am Asleep - Is That a Pragmatic Self-Contradiction?
Socrates said that being wise carries with it a sense, a very strong intuition of a pragmatic self-contradiction. The state that you are wise seems to be an indication that you are in a perspective and you have an identity that is precisely not that of being wise. And so what that tells us right away is that wisdom has this perspectival and participatory aspects to it. It's not a matter of making, of even having true beliefs, there's a matter of what perspective can you take,. What identities are you assuming and assigning? So the participatory and the perspectives are also very central to wisdom.
