I think if we want to treat literature like anthropologists or archivists, that's one thing. But as fans of literature, I think there's enough room to do a lot. Just because something new doesn't mean it's fantastic. And what I've learned is there's a wave of all the younger writers that are kind of starting to get published after the success of assertion and his three body problem.
