The Bi-Directional Relationship Between Hormones and Sleep

Our hormones are affecting our body clock. Estrogen makes the clock more coherent to give you a better drive, which can then impact upon your sleep wake systems. The other things that estrogen and progesterone are doing is that estrogen has been associated with receptors in the brain that are regulating mood. It's actually pretty scandalous that this whole area of human biology hasn't really been properly looked at in women.
