You Are What You Train Jujitsu

The whole point of jujitsu is to get out of the worst case scenario. And this is a huge mistake with the way that people train jujitsu. When your opponent is advancing position, your goal should be immediately to start shoring up all of your defenses and not giving them anything at all to attack. If we condition people when their guard is being passed, rather than just giving up the cross face and going to the side control position, take away all of the things that they could attack. That's a good practice generally. You don't have to be doing hawking,. but however you do jujitsu,  your goal should be Immediately to begin shoring up
