Rodent studies have suggested that the glacoaloids and potatoes could injure the gut microbiome. These animal-based studies are good for building theories where hypotheses are good for helping us to understand mechanisms, but they are not proof in and of themselves. We should always move to verify them in human-based studies to ensure that the way that it works in humans is the same as what we see in these animals.
