With neurofeedback, there's this type of training that has been traditionally done called alpha theta training or the peniston protocol. For some people who have PTSD and it feels like their guard is being dropped and sudden part of them is like, no, you need safe,. And so they panic. So we know we peniston protocol wouldn't help, but Bessel van der Kolk took the author's protocol and he did a study. The other protocol worked really well for those patients who had this sort of relaxation induced anxiety. It seems to kind of teach the brain to get into a calm state without feeling like their guard was being dropped. That protocol I've seen work really well
