The Rogue Likes and the Skinner Box Element to Games

The older and the more obscure a Rogue like you choose it feels to me at least the more prestige that is in beating these kinds of games. I think there's also the Skinner box element to difficult games which have random elements. When you win a game you get a big sort of dopamine hit but when you lose a game but you feel like you could have won, you felt like you were getting close to winning or you had a particularly good runYou also get quite a lot, quite a big dopamine hit and there's a sort of slightly addictive element to the way games factors in that way.
