How to Be a Successful UX Freelancer

Designers have to figure out the business before they even do the research. Almost all of my work these days is teaching design leaders how to exist in a business context. I haven't done any actual design related work in a really long time. We put all this focus and effort into users, but really they're just one actor in our bigger story.
