How Much of the Time We're Acting Out of Habit
Habits are a way of learning about the world. They're learning through doing. When you do something over and over in the same context, then you start to form mental associations without even trying. We don't know when we have a really strong habit and when our habit is weaker. Usually we're just not aware of that. The thing about habit is that they're not accessible to consciousness, which means we can't introspect. So if i asked you how much of the time we're acting out of habit versus conscious decision, what would be our yes?
