Are We on Par With the Goldfish?

I've heard it suggested many times that our attention spans are on par with, with goldfish. But the length of time it takes us to then get back to a task is quite long. And not only that, but the interruptions that we are suffering are not coming from where I expected them to come. We found in the last five, six years, an average of 47 seconds of attention on a screen on average.
