How to Passivate Stainless Steel Kettles
Charles: I was having issues with off flavors and beer that in, you know, why is there this weird white layer of stuff on my fermentation vessel? And the first thing he said, it was, did you passivate it? You know, that that characteristic that you're describing has a very odd dull, kind of dulling experience. It's really difficult to explain. Charles: Apparently, my use of just star sand,. sprayed it over my, my brand new stainless fermentation vessel, let it sit until it dried. And from that point forward, it never developed that white layer, the off flavor went away. He says using metric actually is much less confusing than imperial measurements.
