Anxiety is part of the expectation of danger in a sense, which puts the neurophysiological state at some level into a fight or flight response. What we need is to promote the higher ability of the brain so that we are not activating just the lower parts of the brain. So what TM does is resets the system, allows the mind to settle down, the body settles down,. There is rest, and there is then in that state a sense of inner security and peace.
