Why Is It So Hard for Us to Be in This Moment?

The power of association, rumination and predicting the future. Why do you think it's so hard for us in general? I don't know why the brain was designed this way. One idea is that the purse verance of events that are displaced in time and place help create memories. The mind may wander, but we can cultivate, through mindfulness training, awareness of where our mind is. And we can cultivate the capacity of controlling our mind's focus to hold the goals of the moment more crisply and clearly.
