The Seeds of Commodity Production
Under feudalism, it wasn't necessarily for exchange. But at some points, there were a surplus in production. This is where you first see actual capitalists appear. They appropriate the products and they turn them into commodities. Under socialism, things that are produced socially no longer go to benefit individual capitalists but under socialism, they become property of everybody.
