As we run faster, the amount of time that you spend with each leg on the ground decreases. And so it's who can hold on to that technique and keep generating force in your muscles as long as possible through a race. So how much is natural ability for genetics and how much is training? There's certainly a genetic element to it in terms of all sorts of elements that sort of lead to the composition of your muscles. But then it's also about the way in which you condition that system through childhood, through adulthood and through training. The extra thing that makes elite athletes on top of all of that is the ability to push themselves through training and in competition as well.
