The Beauty of Western Eastern Functional Medicine

Jason Priestley had a parasite over a decade ago, and it was terrible. He says he went to conventional doctors who would say there's nothing wrong with you. But then he saw Frank and he was like, "I think you have a parasite" It took this is the beauty of Western Eastern functional medicine for him to get his life back on track.

I mentioned this in the show. I had a parasite over a decade ago, and it was terrible. I experienced anxiety. I'm not anxious, but I experienced anxiety. I was fatigued. This is before I started working with Frank. I went to conventional doctors. They would say there's nothing wrong with you. I went to a, I think it was a neuro, not a neuroscientist, but I thought like they were testing me for neurodegenerative disease because they thought it was. And that wasn't it. And then I saw Frank and he was like, I think you have a parasite and then did that and I had it. And it took this is to me, this is the beauty of Western Eastern functional. Yes, I did multiple rounds of antibiotics. And Frank was like, you need to take it. And then I also did multiple rounds of supplementation. And then also did acupuncture and TCM and taking herbs. And it took a while and I finally kicked it. But I think parasites, in my opinion, they're everywhere. I didn't travel to Africa. I traveled to a salad bar in New York City. And they are so under diagnosed or misdiagnosed. I'll pause there. What's your take on parasites in general before?
Speaker 1
I completely agree with you. I mean, I think also the most important part of your story that I just have to reemphasize was that you know yourself, Jason, you were like, I'm not an anxious person. I do not, I did not just randomly have anxiety. And this is my life now. And now I have to go on permanent anxiety medication and not saying anyone should not with the advice of their doctor, of course, take whatever medications they need. But it's this idea that we spontaneously break and then we're done. And that's the part that I would never be able to live with. And what also is so important in your story is someone said, I'm going to listen to Jason and his real experience. And I'm going to explore when this change happened. And I think that's so important. Yeah, parasites in general, I got to tell you, my story is like that with mold where it's just like tricky, sticky, very hard and very complicated scientifically to treat and really easy to miss on both of them too, for sure.
