Is Equity a Key Part of Your First Sales Hire?
I think equity is definitely important. I've had talks with founders and have asked them, what are you willing to pay this first sales hire? Or first go-to-market hire? And every time they tell me what they want to pay, I say, you're probably going to need to pay a lot more if you actually want this person to be legitimate. So I think that you have to be willing to pay in top dollar and also give skin in the game for your company because this is a really important role.
