The Role of Rest in Interval Training
Exercise psychology is a good analogy for this idea of rest based training. If you see a hot stove, you are not going to be able to put your hand on that stove without getting burned. But also, we know that if we touch the stove very quickly and pull our hand off, we also won't get burned. That's another strategy. But only one of those strategies allows us to touch the hot stove withoutgetting burned. The other one means we have to pace.
