The Importance of Protein in Endurance Athletes

The general daily recommendations for the general population is usually in most countries somewhere between 0.8 to 1.0 grams per kilogram body weight so significantly lower than getting around a 1.2 to 1.8 grams per kilograms. For athletes that are training 20 hours per week or so then it starts to perhaps make sense just based on anecdote and practice not necessarily based on a lot of evidence but it is worth taking note of what the practitioners are doing because science often lags behind practice.
