Farming occupies 40 percent of the planet's surface. Of that, just 12 percent is under crops and 28 percent for grazing by livestock. From grazing alone, we get just one percent of our proteen. Urban sprowl is a really bad thing. It's very bad for the country side, but also very bad for cities. And yet somehow it's surrounded by this sort of force field, this moral force field, where you might criticize industry, but not farming.
