When we take ourselves how we are, sometimes in a fixed way, we don't see how conditioned it is. And so there are a variety of ways we can get the sense of that. Learning a different language, for some people can point that out. Meditation is another way. Sooner or later, you start seeing the conditioning because the condition is the activity of the mind. As we settle the mind, either the activity settles or you suffer. and so you start seeing what needs to be like go up.
