The attention economy term dates back to 19 72, when the nobel prize winning economist herbert simon made this kind of off the cuff servation that kind of a glut of information creates a pausity of attention. And i think one of the things that began to happen when diditor media began to fill every niche, nook and cranny of our day, is this sense that our attention spans began to diminish - which i don't believe is the case. People talk about the speed of culture a great deal in advertising, but it's hard for any kind of large entity to operate at that kind of agility,. inevitably.
