Reid Hoffman: Trust is normally built upon a simple foundation. But this is a problem for anyone who hopes to blitz scale. You often can't wait for trust to develop at its natural rate. So how do you remove time from the establishment of trust? You have to find a shortcut. In these cases, you need to be bold. Make a sweeping gesture to win that first dance. When he founded Spotify, he did what few disruptors ever do: He worked with the industry he was trying to reinvent. How did Ek build a relationship with a music industry wary of piracy?
