The Difference Between Exercise, Physical Activity and Movement
Ted Chang: I think it's important to differentiate between the two types of exercise. He says movement is when you are using your body in a way that elicits an increase in caloric expenditure. Physical activity, on the other hand, is usually rhythmic and focuses on one repetitive motion again and again and again for a fixed period of time. The concept isn't really translating to people working well or taking care of their health as many do with parenting," he says.
