Johnson and Johnson - The Year of the Hip Replacement
In 2013, J&J announced it would phase out all of its metal hip devices due to declining sales. Thousands of lawsuits related to the Pinnacle hip replacement were stacking up in a separate pile. $2.5 billion to an estimated 8,000 patients was the finalized total. By itself, DePew orthopedics earned $26 billion in revenue in 2019. Johnson and Johnson collected more than $82 billion last year.
