Fermented Foods and Gut Health
Catherine Rivess is one of my registered dietitians in the Retreatian Clinic. She's an incredible gut health specialist and we discuss everything from gut brain axis leaky gut plant points to Mediterranean diet links with depression. A lot of people now are very aware of these products from the shop shelves that have probably been there a very long time but are just gaining traction things like kimchi, kombucha, sauerkraut, kefir, miso. Catherine: fermented foods contain millions of live microbes as a form of probiotic and they also produce byproducts which the microbes need to support our gut health.
